The opportunity

The team at Brockwell is looking to connect with smart, experienced professionals at all career stages who want to grow with us. Have a read of our words below and submit an expression of interest to join us as we scale up our operations in 2025. 

The role will vary depending on our requirements and your experience, but will involve:

• Partnering with clients to understand their objectives, support their work, and exceed their expectations,
• Leveraging and expanding your professional network,
• Contributing to business development activities at Brockwell,
• General engagement activities, such as project management, media and policy monitoring, and attendance at industry events and dinners, and
• Working side by side with our small, dynamic team.

About you

We’re early in our journey, so hiring the right people is essential.

A background in the fields of Communications, Public Relations, Public Policy or Government Relations — or indeed in Public Relations or Policy consulting — will be highly regarded, but is not essential. Above all, we’re looking for a mix of knowledge, network, skills and cultural fit. 

Here’s what we care about:

• You have opinions of your own: Our work demands engagement with the world — media, politics, policy, and the people shaping them. We’re after colleagues who read widely, think deeply and don’t mind having too many browser tabs open. We love people who have ideas, are generous with what they know, and thrive on collaboration.

• You have a bias to action: Are you a self-starter? Do you love to get stuck in? We’re after colleagues who are proactive and always looking for ways to add value — not just tick boxes.

• You can write good: Seriously. Writing is a core consulting skill — and it’s hard to fake. You should be confident in your ability to write clearly, edit smartly, and help shape compelling narratives.

• You can count backwards: Project management matters. We want people who’ve delivered work of all shapes and sizes — and who know how to remain flexible and navigate change. Outcomes matter, but how you get there matters too — to us and our clients.

• You’re AI-curious: AI is an important adjunct to our workflow, and how we use it is governed by some internal guardrails, client requirements, and a good whack of common sense. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve just dabbled or totally embraced AI; instead, what matters is that you are on the journey, see the potential, and are optimistic about how you’ll use these tools in your career.

• You’re into WFH: We’re a remote-first team, which means high trust, high autonomy, and a bit of asynchronous magic. Team connection is even more important, so we work hard for those moments. WFH not for everyone — but for us, it allows more time and space for deep work, client deliverables, and juggling life beyond the laptop. At this stage, remote work is non-negotiable, so if you crave catch-ups in the kitchen or heading out for a coffee with your team, we’re probably not the right fit for you at this moment.
