Classic FM's New Campaign

Classic FM has launched a new marketing campaign that emphasizes familiar classical music that audiences might not recognize by name. The campaign, titled “You May Not Know The Name, But You Will Know The Music,” was developed in-house at Global and aims to highlight the ubiquity of classical music in popular culture.

From the iconic Handel’s anthem, Zadok the Priest marking the start of UEFA Champions League matches to Prokofiev’s Dance of the Knights featured in dramatic moments on shows like The Apprentice, classical music plays a significant role in our everyday lives. This campaign showcases how classical tunes have soundtracked memorable TV and movie moments, as well as major sporting events and advertising campaigns.

Campaign Launch Details

The TV advertisement will air during ITV’s primetime slots and feature prominently during England’s first Six Nations rugby game. Additionally, it will be displayed on the big screens at Odeon cinemas across the UK. To amplify the reach, a nationwide outdoor campaign will run on Global’s large-format roadside screens and throughout the London Underground.

Insights from Global's Leadership

Simon Barnabas, Global’s Managing Director of Marketing, stated, “This striking and thought-provoking new audio-visual campaign reflects Classic FM’s commitment to making classical music more accessible and relatable. It emphasizes the emotional connection people have with this genre.” He believes the campaign will capture positive attention for the brand in 2025 and beyond.

Phil Noyce, Classic FM’s Managing Editor, expressed excitement about showcasing classical music in a captivating manner, inviting more people to experience its magic. He highlighted that Classic FM welcomes everyone, regardless of their knowledge of classical music, reinforcing the campaign's message: “You may not know the name, but you will know the music.”
