Ami Appoints Carlo Mengucci

French fashion brand Ami has officially announced the appointment of Carlo Mengucci as their new Global Marketing and Communications Director, starting Monday. This move comes as the brand continues to expand its global presence.

Relocation to Paris

Mengucci will be relocating to Paris, where Ami was founded in 2011 by Alexandre Mattiussi. Mattiussi expressed excitement about Mengucci's appointment, stating, "Carlo is a longtime friend who we are delighted to welcome at Ami. We will write a beautiful chapter of the house’s history together, with our shared values."

Role and Responsibilities

In his new role, Mengucci will report directly to Mattiussi and Nicolas Santi-Weil, CEO of Ami. His responsibilities will include overseeing the brand's marketing, communications, events, talents, social media operations, and press departments.

Previous Experience

Mengucci joins Ami from Etro, where he served as the Marketing and Communications Director since January 2019. He has also held positions such as PR Director at Aeffe Group, which manages brands like Moschino and Alberta Ferretti, and worked for Roberto Cavalli.

Recent Changes in Marketing Department

Ami's marketing and communications departments have seen significant changes recently, with the departure of Marie Montiglio, the global press head, and Samy Cheddadi, the former Chief Marketing Officer.

Ami's Global Expansion

Mattiussi, who has a rich history in the fashion industry, having worked with Dior, Givenchy, and Marc Jacobs, is optimistic about the brand's future. In 2021, Sequoia Capital China acquired a majority stake in Ami, aiming to further enhance its global reach.
