We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Digital Marketing to lead our digital marketing strategy and execution, driving lead generation and brand awareness. As the Director of Digital Marketing, you will be directly responsible for the strategic digital marketing plan for SUMO Scheduler. You will need a deep understanding of SaaS product marketing, digital channels, lead generation, and analytics. This role requires a hands-on leader who can both strategize and execute.
This is a remote position reporting to the US-based EVP of Sales and Marketing. Candidates must be fluent in English and have the flexibility to meet during normal US work hours and alternative hours as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Digital Strategy & Execution: Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive digital marketing strategy aligned with company goals. Spearhead strategizing marketing initiatives in close collaboration with the Director of Sales.
- Lead Generation: Oversee the development and maintenance of a sustainable lead pipeline through a wide range of digital marketing channels, with a focus on MQL generation.
- Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and optimize digital marketing campaigns across channels including paid search (Google Ads, etc.), social media (LinkedIn, etc.), email marketing, content marketing, and webinars.
- SEO/SEM: Oversee and guide the team responsible for developing and executing SEO and SEM strategies. Provide strategic direction to improve organic visibility and drive targeted traffic, while ensuring alignment with overall marketing objectives.
- Content Marketing: Oversee the creation and distribution of engaging, valuable content (blog posts, ebooks, webinars, case studies, infographics, etc.) to attract and nurture leads.
- Email Marketing: Develop and execute targeted email marketing campaigns, including lead nurturing, product announcements, and promotional offers. Proficiency with marketing automation platforms is crucial.
- Social Media: Manage and grow SUMO Scheduler's social media presence, creating engaging content and driving audience interaction.
- Website Management: Oversee the SUMO Scheduler website, ensuring it is optimized for lead generation, user experience, and SEO.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key digital marketing metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Budget Management: Manage the digital marketing budget effectively, ensuring a strong return on investment.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small team of marketing professionals (Marketing Specialist, contractors).
- Sales Enablement: Collaborate closely with the Sales team to provide them with the tools, resources, and training they need to effectively sell SUMO Scheduler.
- Channel Partner Support: Develop strategies for marketing to our Salesforce channel partners
Required skills and qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written)
- 6+ years with direct management experience overseeing direct reports.
- 4+ years’ experience in B2B digital marketing (preferably SaaS and/or enterprise software).
- Proven track record for developing and executing successful lead generation-focused digital marketing campaigns.
- Deep understanding of digital marketing channels (SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, content marketing, paid advertising).
- Expertise in marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, Marketo).
- Strong analytical skills and experience with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Experience managing PPC campaigns across search and social platforms.
- Intermediate experience with HTML, URL construction, Tracking parameters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience managing external agencies and contractors.
- Excellent cross-cultural communication skills as well as excellent writing and copy-editing.
