Senior Directories & Content Consultant

ELE’s Senior Directories & Content Consultants are part of our team. They work with law firms and barristers chambers, providing direct, expert advice on strategic positioning to ensure the best possible representation in legal directories. They also deliver exceptional submission drafting as well as leading on other content-production projects (primarily websites, reports and thought-leadership content). 

Strong skills in copywriting, copyediting, and presenting complex legal information clearly are essential, along with impeccable deadline management and the ability to juggle multiple projects seamlessly. 

Most importantly, ELE’s SDCCs play an important or leading role in managing client relationships, as well as working with the project managers to ensure clients get the excellent service they come to ELE expecting.

This role demands a comprehensive understanding of the legal sector, exceptional leadership skills, a love of writing and a commitment to maintaining our values as a B Corporation.

Each SDCC will have their own client portfolio, delivering the following key areas of work:

• Overseeing the annual legal directory submissions process for your client portfolio, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
• Working with members of our freelance team, to ensure the directories projects run smoothly.
• Communicating with key client stakeholders to provide guidance and support for submissions and awards.
• Be the point of contact for Chambers UK and Legal 500, handling queries and providing necessary information.
• Managing the review, editing and (where required) writing of directory submissions for clients (primarily Chambers and Legal 500).

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with legal directories, including Chambers and Legal 500 is essential. Knowledge of legal directories beyond the major players would be good but isn’t essential.
• Expertise in drafting high-quality, compelling copy tailored to the legal sector is also essential.
• You should be skilled at identifying and positioning matters and work highlights to maximise impact in directory submissions.
• You should also be fluent in English, with exceptional writing and editing skills.
• You should have outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
• You should also have experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and coordinating effectively with clients.
• You should be a proactive problem-solver with meticulous attention to detail.
• Familiarity with legal document preparation and a solid understanding of legal concepts would be beneficial.
• Prior experience in legal marketing and business development is also a plus.

The nitty gritty

• This is a 100% remote role, based from wherever you wish to work.
• We are a naturally flexible employer and, generally, happy for you to work how and when you need/want to, as long as you’ve confirmed this with your manager.
• We have two in-person meetings for the main people in the ELE team, each year. We aim for 100% attendance at these and expenses will be paid.
• We also have a number of coworking sessions throughout the year, in different locations. If you can make these, that’s great, but they’re location dependent.
• Beyond this everything is virtual and things like training and social activities, frequently done online.
• We offer a 5% commission (on the first contract) for all new clients employees bring in to ELE.
• We also provide a tiered bonus structure for everyone, based on salary, if we exceed the agency annual targets.
• Everyone receives 5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata), including bank holidays. 
• In addition, you’ll get a further 6 days a year (pro rata) to use as a wellbeing day.
• The salary range for Senior Directories & Content Consultants is £40,000-50,000 pro rata depending on experience. Salaries are reviewed annually in line with annual reviews.
• This role is for 24 hours per week, to be worked over a minimum of four days. There is scope for this to be increased to full time, as the agency grows, and for the right candidate.
