Overview
We are seeking a Technical Marketing Automation & CRM Integration Engineer to develop, manage, and optimize marketing automation, CRM integrations, and backend system connections. This role requires a strong technical foundation in backend development, API integrations, and database management while supporting marketing and sales growth initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be highly technical and data-driven, with expertise in marketing automation platforms (such as Braze), CRM systems, and telephony integrations. They will collaborate closely with IT, Marketing, and Enrollment teams to ensure seamless data flow, automation, and system efficiency through robust integrations and custom development.
Key Responsibilities:Marketing Automation & Backend Development
- Develop and maintain custom scripts and API integrations for marketing automation platforms like Braze, Leadsquared, HubSpot, Marketo, or Pardot.
- Build, execute, and optimize automated marketing workflows (email, SMS, push notifications) using back-end development where necessary.
- Implement webhooks, serverless functions, and custom triggers to enable dynamic, real-time customer engagement workflows.
- Troubleshoot backend technical issues related to automation logic, API response failures, and system scalability.
- Manage data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ensure accuracy and performance in marketing automation workflows.
CRM Integration, Data Management & System Development
- Own and optimize CRM architecture and integrations, ensuring seamless data synchronization across platforms.
- Develop and maintain custom API endpoints for real-time lead data ingestion and processing.
- Implement webhooks and microservices to facilitate smooth communication between CRM, marketing automation, and third-party tools.
- Build and optimize lead scoring models, integrating them into CRM and marketing automation for smarter targeting.
- Maintain clean, structured, and well-documented data schemas, workflows, and database relationships for accurate reporting.
Telephony & Sales Enablement Integrations
- Integrate telephony platforms (e.g., Twilio, Five9, Aircall) with CRM and marketing automation for seamless call tracking and sales follow-ups.
- Develop custom voice and SMS automation workflows, ensuring real-time tracking of outreach performance.
- Implement real-time call data ingestion pipelines, allowing sales and enrollment teams to make data-backed decisions.
- Enhance IVR (Interactive Voice Response) and chatbot integrations to improve customer interactions.
Performance Tracking, Reporting & Optimization
- Develop custom reporting scripts and API connections to pull campaign performance data into BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.
- Automate lead attribution tracking, ensuring end-to-end campaign analytics for marketing spend optimization.
- Analyze data anomalies and discrepancies, providing technical troubleshooting and debugging solutions.
- Partner with IT and Marketing to ensure system reliability, error handling, and process optimization.
Cross-Team Collaboration & Technical Strategy
- Act as the technical liaison between IT, Marketing, and Sales, ensuring automation and integration strategies align with business needs.
- Partner with Enrollment teams to build scalable data pipelines that track daily call performance and lead conversion rates.
- Work closely with DevOps and Engineering to ensure infrastructure security, compliance, and efficiency.
- Regularly assess emerging marketing and CRM technologies, recommending technical improvements to the MarTech stack.
Current Challenges & Gaps This Role Will Address
- Lack of technical expertise in CRM and marketing automation platform integration.

Qualifications & ExperienceRequired:
✔ 5**+ years of experience** in backend development, CRM architecture, and marketing automation.
✔ Proficiency in Python, JavaScript (Node.js), or similar backend languages for API development.
✔ Hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Braze, HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot).
✔ Strong experience with CRM platforms (e.g., LeadSquared, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics).
✔ Experience working with RESTful APIs, Webhooks, and Microservices Architecture.
✔ Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases for managing lead data and marketing analytics.
✔ Experience in ETL development and data pipeline management.
✔ Deep understanding of data hygiene, lead scoring, and customer journey automation.
✔ Familiarity with DevOps practices, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), and infrastructure-as-code tools.
Preferred:
➕ Experience with serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions).
➕ Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation.
➕ Experience with graph-based identity resolution models for customer data deduplication.
➕ Knowledge of BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio) for reporting integration.
➕ Experience in higher education, enrollment marketing, or B2B lead generation.
