WPP's Sales Forecast Under Pressure

The market is preparing for WPP to disclose a further decrease in its sales when it announces its first-quarter results next week. There are growing concerns that President Trump’s trade tariffs might compel advertisers to further reduce their marketing budgets.

The FTSE 100 advertising giant is already contending with a slowdown in spending by the world’s foremost consumer brands amid rising fears regarding the global economy's health.

Analysts predict an underlying revenue decline of 2.5% for the first three months of the year, which is worse than the 2.3% drop in the fourth quarter.

Publicis, which recently overtook WPP as the world’s largest advertising agency, has already issued warnings regarding market conditions.
