Disney's Marketing Restructuring

Pam Levine, the head of marketing for Disney Branded Television and National Geographic, is stepping down as part of a broader restructuring effort within the company. Her responsibilities will now be integrated into the team led by Shannon Ryan, the president of marketing for Disney Entertainment Television.

Notable Campaigns

Levine was instrumental in several successful marketing campaigns, including:

  • Disney Branded Television’s “Percy Jackson & the Olympians”
  • The “Descendants” franchise
  • National Geographic’s “Sugarcane”
  • “David Blaine: Do Not Attempt”

Leadership Changes

In a notification to staff, Ryan outlined how Levine’s previous oversight will be redistributed among her top lieutenants:

  • Erin Weir will take on marketing for Disney Branded Television while continuing her current role overseeing marketing for ABC Entertainment, ABC News, Disney Television Studios, Franchise, Affiliate Marketing, and syndication.
  • Joe Ortiz will now manage marketing for National Geographic, in addition to his responsibilities for Onyx Collective and Freeform.
  • Candice Ashton will add the publicity teams for National Geographic and Disney Branded Television to her current duties, which already include publicity for ABC Entertainment, Hulu, Disney Television Studios, Freeform, and Onyx Collective.

Currently, Aaron Goldman oversees marketing creative and operations for multiple entities, including ABC Entertainment and National Geographic.

Levine's Background

Before joining Disney in June 2022, Levine held marketing roles at 20th Century Fox and HBO. She took over the marketing head position following the brief tenure of Jayanta Jenkins.

Levine’s exit and the ongoing restructuring signal a significant adjustment at Disney’s TV division, which has seen various leadership changes and layoffs over the past few years.
