Launch of the Commerce Media Network
In April 2023, Lyft launched its commerce media network, which began rolling out in-app ads in August 2023. This initiative is part of Lyft's broader strategy to create a robust advertising ecosystem.
Collaboration with Kevel
In October 2023, Lyft also formed a partnership with Kevel to power its ad server, further solidifying its advertising capabilities.
Utilizing First-Party Data
As the advertising landscape evolves, Lyft is focusing on first-party data sets to enhance its targeting and ad offerings. Shane Dwyer, Vice President and Head of Sales for Lyft Media, stated, “If the transaction is the new cookie, and as cookies are becoming deprecated, we’re building an ads business utilizing the first-party data sets that we sit on top of to commercialize destination intents.” This approach is crucial as traditional methods are phased out, making way for more innovative advertising strategies.
